Some say Kyd, some say Shakespeare) which is loosely based on Danish history. But Shakespeare sure made the story popular!</description>

		<description>It&#039;d probably be a bad idea to claim that that&#039;s Shakespeare&#039;s plot outline. He can&#039;t have been the first one to use it, and I&#039;m sure there were contemporaneous storytellers telling stories very similar in the basics.

In fact, I&#039;d challenge anyone to look at any piece of work and find an earlier work that doesn&#039;t match up pretty closely. There are story tropes and conventions that just...work, sometimes.</description>
